In the native Moodle Data activity there is a search view that allows database admin to build a form for searching through the data by setting the searchable fields.
I can't see anything similar in Dataform although this module has many more features than the other one.
I am aware of Filters, but this tool, if I understood it properly, allows to build "stored filters" and then apply one of them in a view. Ie, I could define a filter to show only the entries where X field value is A (and hide all the rest: B, C...).
Instead I would like not to preset the filter values but to allow the user to mark the value to filter by. This is particularly interesting in dropdown fields, for example. Can this be achieved in Dataform by any mean?

Edit: I just thought that I could build a filter for each value in my dropdown field but this is still something hard to deal with because I have many possible values in this field and then I would maybe like to use other fields in the search.
