Messages coming from student@sitename.com

I recently upgraded to Moodle 3.3

In my previous setup (Moodle 2.8) if a student sent a message to a teacher, it was sent to the trainer via email. The from address was the students email name as per their profile.

However, since upgrading, the from address is a generic "student@childbirthinternational.com"

This means that a teacher cannot reply directly to the student which I want them to be able to do. Is there any way of changing this so it picks up the student's email address and inserts it into the from field of the email?

Thanks, Nikki

hi,

I think you need to check the setting in outgoing mail configuration

Thanks but I cannot see which setting it might be. I did check that page but could not see anything that mentioned using the senders email address. Can anyone guide me towards that setting?

Thanks!

The address there is student@... which is obviously where it is getting it from. If I want the senders actual email address to be used should I just have this field blank?
