Manager role with system role - only view site page forum, search for users too

Hi

I want to limit access to the site page forum, which is used only used to send a message to ALL students regarding downtime during maintenance. 

I have a manager role which is also assigned a system role, for the reason that course administrators can search for users in moodle etc. 

I want to limit the above role so that they can only view the site page forum, but not post/reply. 

Is this possible?  


Iwant course administrators to not post on this forum, but at the same time able to search for users via the site administration block.

Just go to the forum and under forum administration you can set permissions right there.  Just remove the manager role from the post permission.
