Hello

We were dealing with an issue with no solution and we would like some help.

it's seems really logic but no solution.

In an assignment , after most of the students submitted their own work there are always some students who didn't submit.

Our teachers want to send  an email or message to those who didn't submit (it would be logic if it could have been in the page "view all submissions"(../mod/assign/view.php...) or to spesific users from this list.

So teacher can select them and "with selected..." send a message....

How can we do it?

We''ll Apriciate  any help

If your site has messaging enabled, you should be able to achieve this in the Course Participation report (it may send a Moodle message over an email, but take a look).

In your admin block, click on Reports - Course Participation

I've attached a PDF on steps that I gave out to teachers when we were on 2.8 (it was great because it would send an email in place of the messages since we disabled site messaging, but on 3.0 if messaging is disabled then it seems that the emails do not work). So you may have to play with some settings but the capability is definitely in core Moodle, just not in the assignments interface.

Hi,

thanks for your manual; there is some work (clicking through) to be done to send the collective email.

In addition, we could initiate a Moodle Tracker ticket with the new feature - automatic email reminder for assignement (or other activities).

Comments ?

There's always the Reengagement plug in -- you set it up to automatically send out reminders to kids who have not been engaged with an activity after a certain amount of time.
