I would like to be able to disable the new user account registration capability with academia theme and enable it with another theme. Can you tell be if you can and if so, how to accomplish the new user account disable?

Thanks. But turning off self registration under plugins/authentication will disable for all theme.
I want to disable it only with academia theme.

That makes no sense to me...when someone comes to your site, the theme is set...they can either register for the site or not...there is no option to change the theme.
Can you explain exactly what you are trying to do here? Are you sure you don't mean course enrollment?

I want customising login page as adding welcome message or disabling new user account registration by only modifying code in theme folder
