The latest version of the Moodle Mobile app is out now, available on Google Play and App store, via download.moodle.org/mobile. With each new version, learners and teachers are able to do more directly within the app. If you’d like to explore new and existing features of the Moodle mobile app, log in to our School demonstration site, Mount Orange, with the username student and password moodle and find the Digital Literacy course.

The course was designed using the advice in the documentation on Creating Moodle Mobile friendly courses, so you won’t see lengthy passages of text, large media files or long lists of documents and slideshows. You will be able to access all course activities both on the web and on the app. Here are a few things to try:

  • Add a key term (with an attachment if you wish) to the glossary. This is new in the latest version of the app, 3.2.1.
  •  Do the Choice activity and manually mark it as completed. The app lets you mark activities as completed manually but it also works automatically - as you will see when you checked out the glossary.)
  • Complete the Learning survey. This task uses Moodle’s Survey, with pre-made questions. Good news if you want to create your own questions: The app should be supporting Moodle’s Feedback activity later this year.
  • Try submitting an assignment from the app. You can enter text (Assignment 1) or even upload and submit a picture from your device’s camera (Assignment 2).
  •  Bandwidth problems? Expensive internet? Both the SCORM package (on Forum netiquette) and the Fun quiz (on Social media) will be downloaded so you can do them offline and then synced back:

  • Check your grades - and your learning plan! (Even better - log out and then use the teacher account ( username teacher, password moodle) to grade the assignments - and then log back in to check your grades and your learning plan!

Please let  us know here if you have suggestions for improvements or extra mobile-friendly activities for the course.

Dear Mary,

I just checked as a student, it was great.

I have quick question, should we need to use moodle  3.2  in our server in order to take the quizzes in the mobile app.  Because, when we try to take the quiz, its saying to take in browser.

Right now we are using  3.1.

Thank you

Hello. Here is the documentation on Moodle Mobile quiz if that helps. Are you able to do the quiz from the Mobile friendly course on your mobile? If your mobile app is up to date then you should be able to do it. Your screenshot doesn't show a quiz -they look like External tools? They should work but perhaps you can say what it is you are unable to access via the app?

Thank you for your immediate repose.

Yes,as you said the quiz cannot be taken in mobile app instead can be taken in browser.

The mainly, i was trying to conduct active quiz in mobile app.

I just checked that the normal quiz is working perfect i the app. Is there a way, we can take active or realtime quizzes in mobile app?

Please let me the process if there is

Thank you

Hello again. I believe you are talking about https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_activequiz and also about https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_realtimequiz ?

These quiz types are plugins, not standard in Moodle and as such, whether they work with the mobile app or not depends on whether their developer has made them work with the app or not. The developer of these two quiz types is often around on these forums so I suggest you add a comment in the plugins directory links to ask him.
