Moderation of marks using Gradebook

I'm using Moodle Gradebook for mark aggregation but am unsure how to moderate the raw marks. For example, if there are too many high marks, how do I spread them apart using Gradebook? Or, if a student receives a mark of 49, how do I moderate it up to 50, so they receive a pass?

I am not sure what you mean by spreading apart high marks.  If you turn editing on in the grader report, you can manually change any of the grades...

Sorry I wasn't very clear. I have changed the course total in the grader report manually, as you suggested. However, this results in the student seeing the word "Overridden" in their feedback section. Is there some way to stop the "Overridden" feedback?
