Hello Fellow Moodlers,
We have a quiz in a course with about 25,000 students and mdl_question_attempt_step_data, mdl_question_attempt_steps, and mdl_question_attempts are taking up about a Gig of space in our database. I saw elsewhere that this could be reduced by removing unnecessary quiz attempts but I am struggling to have the quiz report only list attempts below a certain grade or show the reverse of "show only highest grade." Alternatively, is there a setting somewhere that would tell moodle to only keep the attempt that resulted in the highest grade, or latest attempt?
I am somewhat comfortable editing the database directly but would prefer to do this through the application interface so that links and references to other tables are not broken.
Apologies if this has been asked and answered previously but google searching and forum searching hasn't provided an answer that I feel I could act on. Any guidance or thoughts that others had would be greatly appreciated.
