I'm too ashamed to create an issue in Tracker directly, I must admit.
Maybe there's a simple reason which escapes me (I looked for it).
Just a simpliest possible consideration: why is the moodle logo image (for example https://qa.moodle.net/theme/image.php/boost/core/1486537970/moodlelogo), in folder pix/ not obtainable in SVG format as well?
It would look way better on the site, especially considering retina etc. screens.
