I have to go from a single server to a multible server solution, due to performance and the number of users.

I have all ready split up web+data and sql. The next step is to move moodledata from local server til a NFS share, and here the struggle begins smile


I can make a NFS share and Mount it from a client, but the permissions is killing me. I have looked around for guide or hint but without Lock.


So is there anyone who got a guide for settting up NFS with the permission part?

Using moodle with a NFS mounted moodledata directory makes moodle slow down because of session files. As stated in this forum.

If you still want to try it :

web server process user write and read permission on mounted nfs directory will be enough for the permission part.
