Tag problems in TinyMCE editor

Tag problems in TinyMCE editor

I am using Moodle 2.7 with the TinyMCE editor installed.  I cannot change editors.  I have questions about three issues.

Is there a way to use CSS?  It may be as simple as just typing the CSS in by hand for every page, but that is a bit of a pain.

Is there a way to mark a section of the text as code, samp, var, or kbd without going into the HTML editing mode?

When I go into HTML mode and try to enter, say, a samp tag, the editor jams the contents of the tag up against the surrounding test.  I cannot correct this by simple editing.  I had to insert a non-breaking space before and after this tag to avoid it.  Is there a better way?

Thanks,

fJohn
