I am trying to create a skills inventory for my students in which they would answer questions and all responses would fall into 3 categories. I am trying to figure out a tool that would add up the responses from each category. Does anyone have any idea which vanilla moodle tool will work for this?

Many: Lesson, Quiz, Feedback, Database, all can do it, depends on which one is more suitable for your purpose.
