I would offer a couple of small edits:
End of assessments
Deadline for student assessment of submitted workshop assignments.
For further information see: Managing a Workshop Assignment
Start of assessment
Date when student can start assessing submitted workshop assignments. It may be earlier, equal to or later than the submissions end date.
If this date is later than the submissions end date, then the student will have to wait before they can start assessing submissions.
Submission Start Date Submission End Date Assessment Start Date Assessment End Date |--------------------------|----------------------|-------------------------| Allow Submissions Phase Waiting Period Allow Assessment Phase
If this date is earlier than the submissions end date, then the interval between the start of assessments date and end of submissions date puts the workshop in the ¨Assessment and Submissions Phase¨. In this phase students are allowed to submit and assess submissions at the same time. Students who submit early will tend to have early submissions to assess and those students who submit late will tend to have late submissions to assess.
Submission Start Date Assessment Start Date Submission End Date Assessment End Date |--------------------------|----------------------|-------------------------| Allow Submissions Phase Allow Submissions & Allow Assessment Phase Assessment Phase
For further information on the Submissions & Assessment Phase/ see: Managing a Workshop Assignment
Hi Bob,
thanks for your Input,
But Managing a Workshop Assignment is an internal link on your drive ..

I'm new to moodle but wanted to start offering something back to the project. Edits to some of the help files seem a good place to start (The help files are a strength of the software, I think.).
There are a couple of typos in gradinggrade.html of the workshop module. Below are several suggested edits (changes are highlighted in blue). If I'm posting these in the wrong place or they are unwelcome, please let me know, and I'll stick to passing on the occasional programming hack.
Grade of Student Assessments
This is the maximum grade given to the assessments made by students of their own and/or other work, that is, the grade for their assessments. The actual grade for an assessment is calculated by the workshop module by comparing that assessment with the "best" assessment of the same submission. The "best" assessment is the one which is closest to the mean of all assessments. (This is a "weighted" mean if the teacher's assessment is given a weight greater than one.) Note that if there is only one assessment of a submission, that single assessment is taken as the best. If there are two assessments of a submission, both are considered "best". Only when there are three or more assessments does the module start to make distinctions between assessments.
This grade is sometimes called the "grading grade" and is not the maximum grade given to the work. That grade is called "Grade for Submissions".
A student's grade for the workshop is the sum of the "grading grade" and the grade for their submission(s). Thus if the (maximum) grade for the Student assessments is set at 20 and the (maximum) grade for submission is set to 80, then the (maximum) grade for the workshop is 100.
This value can be changed at any time and the effect on the grades seen by the students (and the teacher) is immediate.
