Moodle Mobile, SSO (Shibboleth), and Guest Auto-Login

Moodle Mobile, SSO (Shibboleth), and Guest Auto-Login

Hi --

I think all I really need is a confirmation of what I read in the Moodle Docs regarding configuring Moodle Mobile with Shibboleth. We're running Moodle 2.7.  Are these statements still true for Moodle 2.7?

  • The "Moodle Mobile additional features" plugin is required (https://docs.moodle.org/27/en/Moodle_Mobile_additional_features)
  • We would need to disable the "Auto login guest" option "autologinguests". This means that in order to use Moodle Mobile with Shibboleth authentication on our site, we must disable autologinguests.

Is this true for all versions of Moodle beyond 2.7?

Many thanks in advance.

Brian

Hi Juan --

With the release of Moodle 3.2 and Moodle Mobile 3.2, has the situation regarding SSO and guest auto-login changed in any way? Specifically, might it now be possible to keep guest auto-login enabled with sites using SSO, and still be able to use the Moodle Mobile app?

Thank much.... Brian

Hi Brian,

SSO is now supported natively in 3.2 (without local_mobile) you should try in a local instance with auto-login, I checked locally and it worked for me (but I'm not sure if it will work in your case)
