Standard description text to automatically populate on assignment creation (2.7)

Wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to have standard description text automatically populate for any assignments being created.

Essentially I need a way to dynamically link/display a set of institutional terms/guidance for any new assignments. This would need to be upfront in the assignment, ideally the description.

I know the submission statement could be used in this way but this features one step after where I'd ideally like this information to be presented.

I've looked into language customisation but this doesn't appear to work for what's needed either. Manually going through every assignment and checking I'm hoping there is an automatic place/process where this can be accommodated.

Appreciate any help! Amy

Are you wanted pre-populated text to appear? This can be done with the Quiz module's Essay Question. It's called Response Template. Check out this link to see if it what you are looking for.

Thanks John, just looking at this feature in relation to the assignment activity, unable to use quiz in this instance.

Are you looking for this to be across your site, or just in one course?

You could create an Assignment 'template' that contains your basic information and then it can be duplicated each time you want to create a new assignment so you don't have to start from scratch.

Another manual option is to use the Generico plugin. You can program the instructions into one of the button templates to be the instructions you want to see in each assignment - then you can insert them into each new assignment with the click of a button.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck!
