Hello,

When I try to install moodle 2.9.1, I got the following error message

"Insufficient memory detected"

How to increase memory_limit using cpanel 11.50?

cpanel displays configuration settings, but there is no provision to make correction?

What is the location of  php.ini?

Can anybody help me?

My thanks in advance.

I would recommend you raise a support ticket with your hosting company.

The issue is that the memory_limit setting in php.ini is too small. It probably needs to be 128M. You may have access to php.ini settings but I can't help you with cPanel.

Moodle's requirement for php allocated memory is 40MB, industry norm is 128M, and some even allocate 64M with increased session times and very optimized hardware. if your hosting provider has allocated even less than 40, means they are expecting clients to be hosting just static sites and not dynamic.

you have 2 choices remained.

1: put a request to your service provider to increase limit to at least 128M.

2: change your hosting provider.
