Need a different Drag n Drop than what I can find

Need a different Drag n Drop than what I can find

I cannot find a drag n drop question format the way I would like -

Column 1                   Column 2                  Column 3

word1 word2 word3 word4 word5 word6 word7 word8 word9 word10

Now I want to be able to drag the words in any random order onto any one column.

Maybe word1 word3 word5 go to column 1 but the student drops them in the order word5 word3 word1, that would result in a zero score in the current formats, because the teacher has to define one exact location for each response. I want the entire column to be the location for multiple words, in any order dropped.

Or, I suppose this could be a matching question - many to one. Multiple items matching to the same answer, then multiple other items matching to a second answer, etc. But in the matching question types all I see is one to one matches.

Do such question types exist? Or can this be done and I just don't know who to do it?

Thanks,

Chip

I don't think this question type exists. It is one I would like to create.

Is this demonstration of the Gapfill question type similar to what you are looking for?

Gapfill Categories

This was taken from

https://docs.moodle.org/28/en/Gapfill_question_type

You can find the question type in the plugins database at

https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=qtype_gapfill

Note that the question type was not specifically designed for this type of question but the documentation explains how to do it. You can drop the correct answer in any row of a column and get credit. If you drop the same answer twice in a column you only get one mark (if you have it set up correctly with no duplicates mode). You can also set up a grid where there are more cells than correct answer and you will get a mark for leaving a cell empty where there is no correct answer offered (look for the double not operation, !!)
