I had that bad experience years ago when I was using Moodle1.9.
Wiki in earlier Moodle2 was not stable. Try avoid it or upgrade to the latest Moodle.
Wish you have a daily backup. I got my Wiki back from my last mid-night back up file, but lost all the new entries of that day.
