Enough! Now a little break!

Enough! Now a little break!

Hello,

I think glossary has reach a point where I think it's enough... I will take a little break on it, only fixing bugs people found.

After this break, I'll come with grading and exporting features. Promise.

In the meantime, I'll be playing with webquests and a new hack I'm coding called Bookmark... It's on CVS, under contrib. I would like to heard opinions about it.

Regards,
Will

Absolutely, well done, there are almost too many new features in there too keep up with already! 미소 Let's tidy up some of the edges.

It is a great module and great features. I am half done with a pictorial dictionary for my site. One more thing to think about: if I use languages other than English, how do we deal with changing endings of words? Is there a way to interlink do - done, think - thought?? Or do we need to deal with all the morphological differences separately for every language??

Hi, Rimas,

I think that the keywords feature just might be what you are looking for.

Thank you for your answer! I didn't notice that I can use the keywords option that way. Yes,  it works. And yes, I am lazy... Some languages have 14-20 different forms for every noun, and even more forms for every verb... If there were a function to input just a stem, and match it with all possible endings and prefixes (that are defined and grouped in advance by a teacher), that would make life easier. Of course, that might require some major work, and there would always be exceptions... I might risk learning some php and writing a code that lists all possible word forms to imput it into the keywords section... For now, it works well!
Thanks again.

that would make life easier.

For whom? 미소

Serious... I think that such behavior could restrict the module a lot... Perhaps I'm wrong.

Well, for me it would. Because I would not have to enter around 14 words for every noun.
I am not talking about changing the very way this module works. I think the module is great, and it does a great job on my website. What I was referring to was an additional function that would allow me to generate all possible forms combining known prefixes and endings with the roots. and maybe copy/paste them into the keyword section of the module. I think it does not even need to be somehow incorporated into the module, because it would be either too abstract or too language specific... I do not think it is very complicated task to write such a script Just started reading php manual 미소

Art, which Tool are you using for this circle comment? (I like it, the shadows shows that it is not a part of the underlying page..)

My opinion is that I should probably send you and a couple of other super-Moodlers a chunk of my paycheck!
