Forum emails going from some courses but not all??

Hi all,
i have looked around and seen similar posts but nothing that has given a good answer to this one. we are a small school with a number of courses for each class we have. we use forum posts to send messages to all in a class. the problem is that this works fine with some classes and not with others. am i missing something?

i look as the settings for both and they look the same to me.

any suggestions?

Are all of the courses available to students?  Are they all "unhidden?"

Create a "dummy" student account for yourself and give it a try in those courses that are not working. Be in these courses as both a student and teacher, and see if email works.  Make sure that the topic where you have your forum is also unhidden.

It seems to me that you are half way there.  If some courses work fine, but not others, it would seem to have something to do with differences in the course settings, or in the roles.

Tell us what you have done that works.  More details can help.

actually to up date no forum are emailing anyone any more..? any ideas? might have to contact the providers i think..
