I had an instructor who was having an issue with the following Cloze SHORT ANSWER (SA) style question:
If my car runs, it has gas. My car does not have gas, so it does not run. {1:SA:=deductive} {1:SA:=valid} {1:SHORTANSWER:=modus tollens~=denying the consequent}
The issue was that the student was answering the last question correctly with the 2nd answer but Moodle was only acccepting the first answer modus tollens. Upon looking at the html code in the question, I noticed that some extra </span codes were inserted before the } bracket. Once these were removed, the question did answer correctly. Only the /span or span that were within the { } brackets, not outside.
