Compatable software to develop course content for Moodle

I have my Moodle installed on my server, but now I want to develop course content.  I have never done this before.  I would like to start with a current PowerPoint presentation that I already have developed, and add vocal commentary to each slide.  Yeah, kinda boring, but the content is excellent, and will be very useful to my audience. I have the hardware / software to record the audio.

What types of files does Moodle support (flash, html5, SOCRM, etc...) and what free or cheap software (under $100) would you recommend that has a graphical user interface for content development?

I dont want to use anything that is created or hosted on someone elses cloud server.  I want to download a program to my computer, generate an output file, then upload it to Moodle exactly where I want it.

I have Sony Vegas Pro 12 and can use it enough to import video, add images, edit (crop, clip, etc) and add audio.  Would something like that work? Guess I need to check the output options, which are many.

Eventually, I would like a fully fledged creation package like Adobe Captivate so I can mess with animations and graphics, but that is going to be Phase 2 of my development.  I just need to get my content going, and get it out there in the next few months. I cant have anything that creates watermarks or things like that.

Consider uploading your PowerPoint (with voice narration) and then students can click on these to download.

Getting the hang of this relatively simple process with prepare you for Phase 2.

By the way, "content" for your course can also be "quizzes" and "discussion".  Don't overlook these.
