Dataform backup problem (moodle frontpage)

Dataform backup problem (moodle frontpage)

Hello,

I backed up a dataform activity located on my frontpage moodle site.

After this, the dataform activity was simply removed from my moodle site, as if it has been deleted! And the backup file is virtually empty.  dead

I know that there are several issues regarding backup-restore of the frontpage, so this may not be related to the dataform module.

Did somebody had a similar experience?

I've just tried that and it seems to work. Have you managed to reproduce with a new instance? smile

Thank you of your feedback.

I haven't tried it yet again. It doesn't seem possible to restore a frontpage activity since in the restore process a course must be chosen (the choice of the frontpage is not shown).

I really don't know how you did it. I should have missed something! mixed

You can use the Dataform presets feature to duplicate an activity on the front page. You create a preset of a dataform activity, then you you add a new instance of the dataform, go to the presets management in the new instance and apply the recently created preset. If the new instance is in a different course, you need to share the preset you created so that it is available site wide. hth smile
