Cannot setup Moodle to send emails via Exchange 2013

Hi,

I've been trying to setup moodle to send emails but I don't seem to get it right.

We're using MS Office 365, with Exchange 2013.

I have tested the same with gmail and it works fine.

I'm using Windows Server 2012, running on IIS 8.0

Do I have to make any changes in the Exchange, or maybe setup an smtp relay in the Moodle server?

Is there anything else I'm missing?

Thanks,

Eric

Does your user have permission to send email as the noreply email address which you are trying to use? Office 365 will reject the email if it doesn't I think.

Yes, this user has full admin permissions in Exchange.

So if you log in to Outlook/OWA as the the user you've specified as for Moodle to use, change the From address to the no-reply address you want to use, the email is delivered successfully?

That's the only bit that caught us out was that the user either needed SendAs Rights or the email address to be assigned to them.

When I used the same address as the reply address, it works fine.

Thank you for your help.
