I recently had to change my login details to our moodle site (being the administrator)- and then was refused entry.

I tried to gain access to the site by getting moodle to email my password to me. The email never arrived and as a result the password was automatically changed.

How do I find it out? Do I have to reinstall all the files and start again?

What a pickle - the email method is usually the failsafe way to recover from such a problem.

Do you have other users in the system that you know the password of? If you can edit the database table "user", copy the encrypted password field from one of these users to the admin user's password field.

Otherwise use this: 21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3 (the password will be "admin")
