Hi,

Is it essential to install SCORM into Moodle before hosting?  It is my intention to launch my project on a trial basis using Bitnami/Amazon hosting.  I had previously looked at another host but in the end they could not satisfy my needs; I intended to use TinCan SCORM with that host but I am increasing getting the impression that it will not be necessary with Bitnami/Amazon.

Mine is a simple project with 6 'courses' forming the whole and I have HotPotatoes and TaskChain as addons/plugins.

You don't "install" SCORM into Moodle. If you have a SCORM package that you have created yourself (with a commercial or free program) then Moodle will display it for you as an activity in your course, or else as a course itself.

Moodle provides native support for SCORM 1.2 and AICC and although some SCORM 2004 packages might work with Moodle we don't provide official or complete support for SCORM 2004 (we have stopped further development on SCORM 2004 but continue to support fixes for SCORM 1.2 and AICC)

Tin Can is supported partially via 3rd party plugins and we may eventually provide native support at some point.

You can also install the Rustici SCORM cloud plugin to get full support for SCORM 2004 and Tin Can (which requires a paid subscription to use)
