OU Blog vs journal

OU Blog vs journal

Hello,

I'd like to use Moodle for student reflection in my courses. Reading around, it seems I have two options of how to make this happen - the OU blog or journal. (I don't want to use the standard Moodle blog as it isn't private to my course or even to the individual).

Has anyone got feedback on either option - or even a better suggestion?

thanks

Michal

Michal, hi

the blog would enable collaborative activity, the journal would not be available to other students.....I could be wrong, see the moodle docs plug-in items.

Hope helpful.

OUBlog is much better option (as far as I can tell from your post and what you actually want)

Dawn is right: visibility is there in the blog, and tags help organise reflections.  You also have a timeline of developing thinking a bit more visible, and comments . . .  Plus it looks better, and has a better feel.  Journal is a bit more blocky and assessment like looking.  Blog is more nicer.  In my completely subjective opinion.
