Hello,

I thought Moodle 1.9 automatically converted full URL's into clickable links. I'm now using Moodle 2.5.1 on a site and have noticed that such URL's only display as text when I view the messages history. Is there a filter responsible for auto-conversion of URL links in the settings somewhere?

It is now implemented as a filter. Go to Admin -> Plugins -> Filters, and enable 'URL auto-linking', or whatever it is called. Since it is a filter, you now have more control. E.g. you can turn in off in one course if you need to.

Thanks. The trick was to enable the "Convert URLs into links and images" filter at the site level on the "Manage filters" admin screen by changing its setting from "Off but available" to "On". Previously my thoughts had gone directly to the filter settings. Tinkering there had proved of no use.
