Can I bundle non-standard blocks in Moodle for upgrade?

Can I bundle non-standard blocks in Moodle for upgrade?

I'm about to upgrade to 1.5 in about 3 hours. I've got the 1.4 version of the contact block on my site. I'm making some hacks to various parts of Moodle before installation and giving the whole 1.5 folder to my host to install. Is it better to drop the 1.5 version into the 1.5 folder before it installed (in other words, will Moodle upgrade it along with everything else)? Or should I remove the 1.4 version and just install the 1.5 version of the block after the upgrade?

Strictly speaking, it is always "safer" if there is one less thing that can go wrong.

On the other hand, a lot of effort has been done to make sure that nothing bad will happen, and this was driven mainly by the glitches that several "brave souls" encountered. I 'm confident that there won't be any problems, especially with blocks. So if you are asking for opinions, be a brave soul and install it along with everything else. wink
