Labels and groupings

Hi everyone,

I post here because there was nowhere else I could thing of, and because posts relating to similar _but not exactly the same_ subject seemed way outdated.

I hope the path is clear...熊猫眼

Here I go:

Moodle Version 2.6

As can be seen below, I have no way to assign a grouping to a label.

In the course settings, I have set the course to be in separate groups.

Is this a bug? Groupings work for everything but labels (I find the possibility to assign a grouping under "Common module settings"

Thanks for your time.

Below the screenshots of my course setting and of the lack of grouping setting for labels.

.

Philippe

Have you tried enabling Available for group members only ? This allows you to use resources with a grouping and so it might work for a label.

Hello Mary,

That is my problem: I wish I coud enable anything, but as the screenshot shows, there is nothing but "visible" (show/hide) in the common module settings.

Is there any prior setting that I should check (apart from the group mode at course level)?

Thanks

Are you SURE you have enabled "available for group members only" in Site administration as in the documentation I linked to before? I did this and I can set the label to a grouping:

It works, although you need to be aware that there is a bug and the grouping name will not display on the course page for the teacher. See MDL-37425

Thank you for your patience Mary.

I had read every word of the pge BUT the top sentence:

Available for group members only is an experimental feature which may be enabled by an administrator in Administration > Site administration > Development > Experimental.

I am not the super admin of the site.

I'll get in touch with him.

Thank you for pointing this out to me.

I wonder why it is such a far-fetched thing though...

Cheers
