Courses not showing up in Site Home for Site Admins

We're using Moodle 2.3.2.

Suddenly -- since yesterday -- our site admin users are unable to see the course list when clicking on "site home" on our site's main page. I've quizzed all of our site admins, and no one has made any changes to any settings. I've turned on debugging, and nothing has shown up. I've made sure that "Admin View" is set to "Admin user sees all courses" in Site Administration -> Plugins -> Blocks -> Courses. I've also tried disabling this and re-enabling it, but that didn't help.

Any ideas, anyone?

A couple of updates:

First, I've confirmed that this is not a theme issue, because I've switched to several different themes and the issue remains.

Second, I should make it clear that this only affects site admin users. All other users see their course list as appropriate.

I had to change the value of FRONTPAGECOURSELIMIT in the file /course/lib.php, since we have more courses than the limit given. I changed it to 2000 so the issue shouldn't come up for us again for a long time.
