Upgrading a Theme

Upgrading a Theme

Hi,

Pretty new to Moodle but I have a server running with the essential theme installed.  My question is how do I upgrade this theme now there is a new version out?  I am guessing I don’t just drop the files over the top?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

  1. Put Moodle into maintenance mode.
  2. Backup old theme.
  3. Delete old theme.
  4. Put in new version of theme.
  5. Go to 'Site Administration' -> 'Notifications' and follow instructions.
  6. Put Moodle out of maintenance mode.

Thanks for the reply.

If I do this I get a page cannot be displayed after replacing the theme folder with the new one.

Print screen please!  And double check that you don't have an 'essential' folder within '/theme/essential'.
