notification of topic/course completion

Pls ignore me newbie ignorance, but is it possible for a teacher/admin to receive notification of topic and/or course completion?  Im still testing and don't have mail/messaging settings on so please go easy on me if it is a feature of mail ;)

This is not possible in the current version or the about to be released version.

There have been some hacks published which do this but if you are new to moodle you would probably just want to leave it unless you are fairly techy competent.

Really?!  Im surprised by that, I would've thought it'd be a required feature for  a majority of people.
