Editing records

Editing records

We're new to Database (moodle 2.3 at the moment), so please forgive me if this is a no-brainer!

short version of question:

How do you edit an existing record in the database? We can see how to add, and view, (and have made templates for both) but not edit. What have we missed as this seems to be a pretty basic database function that must be possible?

longer version:

One of our teachers has a card that pupils fill in each time they make something. Putting the card into database is relatively straightforward and seems to work well, but we need the ability to pre-populate the cards for a particular class with targets that the students can then evaluate themselves against, which may or may not be individual to the student or the class. we are happy that we can do that with a CSV import, but the pupils then need to be able to "edit" their record to add their bit and we can't see how to make the editing possible. We can see how to add, and view, (and have made templates for both) but not edit. What have we missed as this seems to be a pretty basic database function that must be possible? if it's not then it'll be an embarassing back to the drawing board moment!

TIA

If you add to the list/single template the ##edit## pattern it will display an icon to click for opening the entry in editing mode. The editing form is based on the Add Template. hth smile
