Moodle 2.5.2+ shows Ð¡ÐµÐºÐ°Ð½Ñ string instead of cyrillic word 'Секанс', for example. Please see screenshot below:

However, I see correct cyrillic in TinyMCE editor while I edit page. SQL query 'select * from mdl25_page;' also gives correct characters.

Page description block also shows correct characters.

Moodle 2.3 installed on the same host seems to work correct:

Both moodle 2.5 and 2.3 were installed on my laptop running Linux Mint 13 64-bit, mysql 5.5.32, apache 2.2.22, Firefox 24

Both 2.5 and 2.3 MySQL databases were created in the same way:
create database moodle;

alter database moodle DEFAULT CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci;

create database moodle25;

alter database moodle25 DEFAULT CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci;

I would be grateful for your advice
