We are looking for a developer to create a Teaching Services module for our Moodle LMS. This module needs to integrate the following features:
- Whiteboard
- Chat
- Web conferencing
- Voice
This module will also need to get information from a course that a student is taking. Here is a scenario:
A. Student Perspective
- a student is taking a course
- the student gets to a section in the course where they want to contact the teacher for help
- the student clicks the Tutor button (will need to be developed)
- a link (or description) of the current page the student is on in the course is transferred to the Teaching Services module
- based on the students account, show only the features to which the student has access (chat, web conferencing, etc)
- a link (or description) of the page of the course is automatically included with the correspondence to the teacher so the teacher knows exactly where the student is having the problem.
- the student clicks on which feature they want to use and sends their message (email) or requests teacher to join an interactive session (whiteboard, chat, web conference, voice).
B. Teacher Perspective
- A teacher logs in
- The teacher can check their emails to see if they have messages from students
- The teacher will see a blinking light indicated that a student(s) wants to initiate a live session (whiteboard, chat, web conference, voice).
- the teacher can then join a live session to communicate with student(s)
- if it is a chat session, a link (or description) of the course page will be included in the first message to the teacher.
