The web address does not appear to be valid

The web address does not appear to be valid - this Moodle installation doesn't appear to be there.

I recently obtained a PHP and MySQL hosting with POWWEB.com and attempted installation in the root directory "htdocs" the usual way. Despite providing correct web address, moodle directory and data directory, the above error message is not resolved. What can be the way out?

Thanks!

I ran into the same issue on Powweb. Have you followed the directions, modified the config-dist.php with your info, including all the paths, then saved as config.php? Also, another issue you will probably run into on Powweb is the php.ini. You need to modify it to allow a LOT more RAM usage. The default setting for Powweb is 8MB. Change that to 32 or 64 MB, at least for the install phase

Whenever I run into this error, I just make a config.php by hand and then it works.

cp config-dist.php config.php
gedit config.php

Make your changes and then Save...

Try it, I bet it works for you too!
