We are getting a new Oracle on demand CRM and from the developers are saying we will need to be using web services to obtain access to the database data.
In my understanding, Moodle is offering web services but their functionality is useful if I want to make data on Moodle's database available to other systems and programmes. This means that if I want to save the information I have about students on Moodle's database to the CRM I can invoke the relevant web service offered by Moodle. Is this correct?
If it is, then how do I make it work the other way round? All the student and course data is on the CRM, so when somebody wants to login to Moodle I need to check this information against the CRM and then pass the information to Moodle. In my understanding, this is not something that is currently offered even as a program skeleton stub. Is this correct? Could you please point me to some information regarding how it can be achieved?
