We are using 2.5 and we have roughly 50-60 assignments in our course that all follow the same format. Basically we ask a series of questions and ask the student to answer them in sentence or paragraph form (so they can explain their answers). Right now we ask students to copy and paste the questions into the text editor.
It would be a big help if we could add the new pre-populated template functionality now available in Quiz/essay questions to our assignments. This would be much easier (and less confusing to the student) to just update the assignments rather than convert every assignment to a quiz.
Any plans to port this functionality over to the assignment module?
