The orthodox method of turning of linking around specific words is to use "<nolink>word or phrase that you do not want linked</nolink>" but it means adding these around each answer and/or each question not arount the whole quiz page, AFAIK.

I gave up on using glossaries because they seemed to be too slow for my large (~500-1000 word) glossaries but for a while I wanted to (I still want to & I hear they have got faster).

But before I did I had a very informative converstation with programmer and general sofware expert, Paul Evans, who told me how to limit glossaries to certain pages, which users would not mind being slow to render. This would also enable us to specify that quizes are not linked. Please see

For details on how to hack earlier versions of moodle.

I am really hoping to use glossaries again, and when I do I will limit them to resources, because users will be happy to wait for resources but not course pages, and because i do not want quizes to be linked.
