Hi!

Just wondering what the plans for HTML5 are? Will moodle slowly transition over as time goes on, or no plans as of yet? And will it be HTML5 or XHTML5? Would be nice to know what to learn in the future... smile

Moodle has been using the html5 doctype since Moodle 2.4.

We use some features which fall under the umbrella term of html5 already and we will continue to add new features as they gradually gain widespread browser support. Is there something specific you are interested in?

Well, hopefully, the direction of Moodle will be with responsive design and a "mobile first" approach.

The first step towards that is the incorporation of the the Bootstrap theme as a new default theme:

But what other aspects of HTML5 are you referring to?

Are you referring to HTML5 video/audio? https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-38158

Or HTML semantic elements? https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-29623

Or HTML5 forms? Or much, much more?
