Updated assignments (2.2 to 2.4) causing PHP crash

Good morning, afternoon, or evening. smile

We have recently updated our school's Moodle from 2.2. to 2.4 (via 2.3) and everything is working fine...with one pretty important hiccup: When we upgrade Assignments using the built-in Assignment Upgrade Helper the assignment seems to break. Students cannot submit assignments and teachers cannot view the Assignment activity. The error message that we receive is shown below. We would greatly appreciate any ideas on what we might need to fix on our end to get this tool working for us. Thanks!

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://moodle.ourschool.org/mod/assign/view.php?id=32963. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

Here are some suggestions:

Hi Aaron,

We got this error and worked around it by not upgrading all the assignments at the same time. I believe we did them course by course and maybe even by parts of a course.

Typically a 500 error in this context means you've overwhelmed the server.
