We upgraded the moodle installation to 2.4 from  1.9 version. Earlier everything was working fine. But after this  upgrade an error is generated when trying to add cursos to the platform.

Error message

Can not be found in the data record of the table course_categories database.

We have confirmed that the issue is not with the database. I have repaired all the tables and could see that the issue still persists.

Had tried to insert the data to the table manually and it worked.

Any idea how to fix it ??

The reason is quite simple, you upgraded from 1.9 to 2.4. As per the instructions for upgrading to 2.4, you must first upgrade from 1.9 to 2.2 and then from 2.2 to 2.4#

The error message suggest that moodle unable to read the data because it cant read anything lower than moodle 2.2 

 

I suggest doing the upgrade again from 1.9 to 2.2 (considering that you still have a backup database copy of 1.9)
