I am trying to upgrade our site from 1.9 to 2.4 and am testing out a course backup and restore first. When I do this I get this error
(moodle1) question type converter not found ddmatch
error/unsupported_subplugin
I found ddmatch for Moodle 2.0 in the old plugins list. Should I install that and try the restore or is there another recommended route?
I see that ddmatch is only available up to 2.3 but there is a 2.4 version in development. I will try that one and see what happens.

edit: Still gives me the unsupported_subplugin error but doesn't give the (moodle1) question type converter not found ddmatch error.
Are you sure the message is related to the ddmatch plugin ? Could it be for another subplugin installed when the backup was done in Moodle 1.9 and that is no more here ?
To my best knowledge the code in my github repo https://github.com/jmvedrine/moodle-qtype_ddmatch works to restore a 1.9 backup without problem (of course you don't get user data including quiz attempts but that is not a ddmatch problem !)
What makes me think this message is not related to ddmatch is the fact that ddmatch is not a subplugin but a plugin.
