hi, i'm using moodle 1.9.19 and can't find add random question button
i mean it's just not there (under add question button in categories)
i try to search the web for a week but there's no problem like i have
i need to add some random question to my quiz
any help will be very appreciated
In Moodle 1.9, Essay questions can only be randomised if you turn on that option in the admin settings. It would appear that option is turned off on your Moodle site.
The particular category only contains Essay questions, so there are no questions there that can be ransomised, so that bit of UI does not appear. If you add one other question to the category (e.g. a multichoice question) then the option should appear.

you're right. i have to activate this feature in
actually my question type is fileresponse and finally i can make it random by editing questiontype.php manually
simply change value from false to true in this function (inside questiontype.php)
function is_usable_by_random() {
return true;
}
maybe this will work with other question type.
