Hi Helen, Wandering if you might know the answer to this. I was trying to work on MDLQA-515 A teacher can get a printable html version the book. In step 4 it says, "Restore the attached activity backup (test_book_for_qa_20120522.mbz) into the course the user is teacher. Don't modify any setting, just use default ones." Any idea where that attached file might actually be?

Hi Al. I'm not Helen but think I found the file in the 2.3 version of the QA tests here http://tracker.moodle.org/secure/attachment/28414/test_book_for_qa_20120522.mbz

Thanks Mary, It passes with this book and the two of my own that I tried earlier today. I am new at this an never even thought of looking in the last QA Test. Thanks again, AL

AL, thanks for your help with QA testing. I have amended the master copy of the test you mention, so the link will work in the next QA cycle.

If you come across any other problem with a QA test, such as an out-of-date test description, please feel free to add me as a watcher to the test, then add a comment explaining the problem.

Hi Helen,

http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDLQA-4811

Just tried this QA test, I don't want to fail it (or pass it) as such without querying first - It works as expected as an admin on my own site, but not as a manager on the qa.moodle.net

The headers for the test though refer to Administrator/Blocks as the relevant components, while the test itself refers to Manager.

Is this an issue with the wording of the test or should the manager on qa.moodle have permissions to do this the same as the admin can?

Richard

Hi Richard,

Thanks for querying the QA test. As I commented on the issue, the QA site manager role needed resetting to its default permissions. I also reset all the other roles to their default permissions, as I recall roles developer Petr saying it's a good thing to do after upgrading your site.

Hi Richard and Helen, Just out of curiosity I've never used the comment block before, I tried the http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDLQA-4811 test as admin on my own Moodle 2.4 beta site and got a failure, but the test as written does not call for testing for the way it failed for me. The test only calls for testing by moving it to the top of a column. It does not specify trying both columns or the bottom of a column. It works as expected throughout my site EXCEPT on the front page at the bottom right. The block will show, but NOT the contents. Just wondering if it shows the same behavior on the test site?

Hi Al,

Just retried the test and put the comments block in a variety of locations including bottom right and had no problems with it, it displayed correctly everywhere.
