not able to add bulk of users based on email in manual enrolment method

As teacher I am not able to add a bulk of students in the manual enrolment method based on their email address (Course settings > Users > Enrolment methods > Manual enrolments > Enrol Users) . They all have emails starting with a specific number. Admins are able to search for emails in that enrolment form, but as teacher I can only search for firstname and lastname, but that doesn't work for me. Is this a bug or is there anything to change in settings or permissions? We are using Moodle 2.3.

Give a try to my extension that allow bulk enrolments by a teacher from a CSV file based on email/id number or user name. A a bonus you can enrol them to groups/groupings wink

Thanks for your hint, but in my opinion it should work like we are used to in Moodle 1.9. Has the search criteria changed? Strange, because an admin can search for students based on email addresses, but teachers can't. Therefore I guess that's a bug...
