Searching for questions in 1.5: linking to source questions in random quizzes?

All of my quizzes pull randomly from the quiz data sets... when students have issues or corrections with a quiz they know to send me the name of the quiz, which matches the category from which the questions are pulled, and the text of the question with the answer provided by me and THEIR answer. For example:
---------------------
Quiz: General Gramar Review
Appositives: What word is the appositive in this line? Dressed in
his flashy new zoot-suit, the dapper young hunchback, Quasimodo,
headed off to the spring prom humming the tune to "Some Enchanted
Evening."

I put: hunchback, Quasimodo

Answer: Quasimodo

The data set for this quiz is called: General Gramar Review

I would go to the category : General Gramar Review
and search for: Appositives: What word is the

and make the corrections. (I would also delete a poor score from the student's quiz results as a reward for posting the 'bug'.)

In 1.4.3, because all of the questions for a dataset would load in one window, I could search the page for the exact text and find the question and then correct it.

However, in 1.5 the questions are blocked into sets of 10(?). How will adminstrators be able to find the original question for a random quiz in 1.5 without clicking into each set of 10 questions? Clicking on the link for editing a question for a random question doesn't link to the original question...

How are teachers going to be able to search the quiz data sets?

many thanks!

Hi Daniel,
All I can say is that this is definitely an issue.
Next Friday I have mid term examinations of my subject. Las week students have been using heavily the quizzes I offer in my course. I use random questions from several different categories in each quiz, and some times the category is not well defined from the question text (some peer teachers like to ask : which is false of the following?, and add an almost random collection of phrases from the whole syllabus.
This Easter weekend I have been correcting the errors in the quizzes (I have lots of them, mainly due to greek letters) and, given this usage, it is a nightmare even in 1.4.3.

The solution is not more or less paging, but a  searching  utility  for  the quiz module (searching in questions and answers, ideally  qualified, wow!!). Having no idea of how questions are organized and stored I do not know how easy of difficult would be to do that.

Hi Dennis, there is an undocumented feature with no GUI yet that will help you: if you add an extra argument perpage you can determine how many questions are shown per page. The default is 20 but for example edit.php?perpage=100 will show 100 questions.

Thanks for the tip there Gustav! I've created a little SWF showing this works... We really need a GUI though on this to facilitate the ease of use...

Thank you!

Here's the SWF

Thanks to all! Open Source works!
