I know that global search no longer exists... but has the search courses box really gone, too?
It is still there in my Moodle 2 installation. But you need to have the category list enabled on the front page in order to use it. Either that or go to

Can you find #coursesearch or #coursesearch2 anywhere in the style sheets? Perhaps they have put a display:none property with one or both of those IDs?

Sorry, I thought that Global search is what Sue meant! duh!!!
