Uploading course to hub

I'm a new user to Moodle and am trying to upload a course to the hub. I get an error message 'cannot register not available site. When I installed Moodle 2.2 it is using a local site "http://localhost/moodle22". How can I change the URL so the course will upload to Mooch. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Hi Doug,

Only sites which are publicly available on the Internet are able to register with MOOCH.

How do I change from the local server to one that is able to be registered on the internet? When downloading the Moodle site, it gives you a local server to use to create courses. Also, I am having trouble figuring out how to download the courses with the mbz extension which cannot be opened on my laptop. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Doug. Having your Moodle on your computer locally and having it on the internet are two quite different things really, though it can be achieved once you know how. You would need to get your Moodle - or a brand new Moodle to which you can add content - on a server on the internet. Webhosting companies can do this for you (for  a fee) and Moodle partners have various hosting packages too,. Take a look here http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Finding_and_Selecting_A_Web_Host

In terms of downloading courses and opening on your laptop - well - why would you want to do that? If you download  a course then you can only really see it properly if you restore it into your Moodle -take a look here http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Restore
